Christmas in the ‘North

Christmas has come early in the TriNorth office, and that’s not just because writer Henry Cowen has donned a Christmas jumper for several weeks now.

England Netball is offering members the chance to win 12 fantastic prizes in the run up to Christmas, All Out Cricket put their Santa hats on and found the very best Christmas gifts for cricket-mad fans and Sportsister has bought back their very popular advent calendar which we hear has some fantastic gifts up for grabs.

The debate continues in the office: when is it to early too wear a Christmas jumper?

The Nightwatchman Strides Forth

The fourth (and best, according to managing editor Matt Thacker) issue of The Nightwatchman, the Wisden Cricket Quarterly, hits the shelves on Monday 2 December. It’s full of everything sort-of-crickety you could possibly want in order to fill those long winter nights snuggled up by the fireside. Derrida, depression, a library in Philadelphia, Scottish Calvinism, ageing and fossils. It’s a lot more fun than it sounds….

You can buy all four issues of The Nightwatchman at a Christmas cracker of a price – just £25 plus p&p – here.

Can your opening batsman hang around?

‘North Netballers

Back in September the ladies of the TriNorth office entered a Wednesday evening netball league. Captained by commercial manager Emily Richmond, the team has now secured seven wins out of seven and are looking to continue this form into the second half of the season.

They’ll be contending for an England dress in no time!

Gridiron Touches Down

This August, TriNorth launched Gridiron, a brand-new digital magazine dedicated to bringing you all the stories from the NFL and the Amercian football world. The launch issue features exclusive interviews with last year’s Most Valuable Player Adrian Peterson; the man who guided the Baltimore Ravens to Super Bowl glory John Harbaugh; and the Indianapolis Colts’ precocious quarterback Andrew Luck.

And if that’s not enough, we’ve enlisted the help of Mike Carlson, Neil Reynolds, Jeff Reinebold and Pro Football Focus to offer their unique insights into America’s game. There is much, much more as well and we hope – and fully expect – you’ll enjoy each and every page.

For more information head to Gridiron’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
